Even though I'm a liverpool fc fan I believe john terry is the best man for the job, especially since watching him in action in the world cup..his presence was always felt and i believe his die hard tactics will be really good for our national team..his a natural born leader in my opinion..

Although as you can see by my picture, I am a Swans supporter, (and although I am a proud welshman, I still followed England's progress during the W.C.),but I have also followed Liverpool since I was seven. I agree that Stevie G would make a brilliant England Captain, but I also agree John Terry would be the best man for the job. He was impressive during the World Cup & his die-hard attitute is a rarity in football nowadays. He would get my vote.

Gary Neville purely for his absolute commitment and i think the England back four need somebody on their backs all game. If not then Terry. I don't think any of englands midfielders or strikers showed they are capable of being England captain during the last world cup. But whoever gets it at least squeaky voice Beckham won't be doing it anymore, he was probably one of the worst captains i have seen at any level.

Steven Gerrard if not him Michael Owen. I find giving the captaincy to a defender doesn't really work. For pure motivation I say the captain should be a midfielder or striker.
