Get All of your medical records from the previous Dr's office and see what he/she was planning on removing and why including the previous ultrasounds. Ovaries have cysts on them, that's what ovaries do. You may have had a bigger cyst on the left one that needed to be removed and the right one resolved. It should clearly state in all of his records what the plan was and how it was followed through. you can even ask for your Pre-op and postop reports

You need to first make sure that the medical records you have from the first physician clearly indicate the cyst was on the right-side ovary. This should be apparent from any sonography/radiology work done. If indeed this is the case, and the cyst is still where it was on the remaining ovary, you probably have a good malpractice case. You should contact a medical malpractice attorney for advice. Call the Bar Association of your state for suggestions for medical malpractice attorneys. They will not charge you unless they win the case.
