I recommend Nature's Miracle, which is designed to take pet urine smells out of carpeting. It works very well for home carpeting and I would expect that it would work for human urine, as well. You can get it at either a pet shop or grocery store. Just follow the label directions.

I have a carpet shampooer so (no worries here LOL)
Um, other then that
I pick it all up by patting it dry (oh say with paper towels)
Then I take my toughest cleaning liqued I got... and drentch that spot of the carpet...
I let that sit for about 5 min or so (or shorter if I'm impatiant)
Then I go and pat the area dry again...
If it still smells I put cedar saw dust all over it, then I vacume it up after about an hour from leaving it there.
If it's still bad, I just repeat the process...
(but usually I don't need no saw dust, or no repeats...
I just clean it up with my carpet cleaner eco-friendly solution I get from the store)
;-)
(sorry don't know what it's made of, just know it's eco-friendly LOL)

Why not use a carpet cleaner vacuum and use a Pet Stain Remover solution? That urine smell is exactly what it gets rid of.
I use a Bissell carpet cleaner.
I also spray Windex on spots before cleaning. They are very good on spot cleaning.

A lot of these answers I've read sound really good. But if those don't work, I'd try a product that is met to take pet urine out of the carpet. Their urine is a lot more potent than any human's, and if you get the right one, they work really well (believe me, I had four cat's pee in the back seat of my car when I was taking them to be spayed and that stuff got it out). That ought to work if the others don't.

You should try vinegar. Firstly, mix the vinegar with a bowl of warm water. It works better this way. Use a cloth to scrub the area of the carpet.
Try drying it under the sun. It helps to reduce the smell. If you can dry it under the sun, iron it instead.
Washing it with detergen won't help.It could cause the colour of the carpet to go away and make it worse.

The only way to get rid of that odor is to keep washing the spot til the smell is gone. It make take several attempts. Try also using a disinfectant on the area. Good of Hydrogen Peroxide would probably help,

i have to agree with the baking soda...i would sprinkle it on the carpet when my puppy had an accident--it would act like a sponge and soak up all the urine. then i would wipe up the baking soda with a paper towel(try not to rub it in though), then scrub with liquid soap and hot water. if it still smells, sprinkle more baking soda on it after the carpet dries, let sit for about a half hour, and vacuum up. very easy and it works! :-)

2 parts white vinegar to 3 parts water. Don't saturate the carpet, dab it then use an old towel to soak it up and effectively lift the stain. It might take a few goes and smell of vinegar for a few days but you won't wreck your carpet.

They have this spray called Urine gone and you spray it on your carpet and then take old towels or paper towels repeat this again until the smell goes away. You can even put it in your steam machine diluted with water and steam clean the area. LOL it worked for me with dog urine...You can buy this at walmart; Walgreens, and K mart.......

Start by sprinkling baking soda on the carpet and put paper towels down over it. That will absorb the odor. Leave that overnight, and then vaccuum it up. Use a rug shampoo to clean up the area, and then let it dry.
