Well, as a spiecies - we've done a lot of damage to the planet in just the last 100 years.
Despite the advances of "civilization" that we've made. Our history is proof that we haven't really evolved all that much, since its obvious that we can not seem to co-exist and get along with each other.
Excluding the endless strife in the Middle East, there is so much violence and conflict in our own cities, our own neighborhoods.
Even in the chatrooms there are obnoxious insensitive individuals just looking to bully the casual innocent passerby.
Then there are those that are so uptight & prejudgemental that take things so seriously, don't realize that this is just a philosophical question.
It seems to me that we can't progress and learn from our own history,... That the Utopia we see in the movies and in novels of a far flung future - where we can get along and live in harmony with the intrinsic diversity that makes humankind so precious. Will never come, even in a thousand years
