You have the opportunity every two years to get rid of an arrogant representative, or every 4 years an "educated" president, or every 6 years an overfed senator. Exercise that right by voting them out of office.

Not only that, but I'm also tired of the underfed, insensitive, irrespeonsible average Joe deciding who lives and who dies. IE drunken drivers that kill, people shooting other people, the sniper thingy, etc. Reading your question, I was a little confused because I don't blame politicians here in the US for alot of the violence that touches my life. I see what they've done in the lives of others, but when it comes to a "them or us" bottom line. I admit, I'm glad it's them and not us. I'm envisioning the aftermath of 9/11 when I say this. It could happen ANYWHERE! I count my blessings that it wasn't where I live or no one I personally know was impacted by it. Selfish?...maybe...I'm just being honest.

Oh for goodness sake the age old cry of "Rich Politicians" and "I can't do anything about it" or that infamous evil entity called "the government" is becoming SO LAME.
Get in or get out...part of the problem or part of the solution? Don't want to put any effort but just want to sit back and complain? I'm guessin you probably didn't even vote in the last election......serves you right for whatever comes your way...try excercising Objectivity in your life for once, who knows someday you may actually be able to hold an intelligable conversation....

me too- how can politicians make decisions for you if they're so isolated from reality? Tony Blair lives in a big bubble as does George Bush. When they decide to go to war they no perfectly well it will never harm them personally. Hundreds of years ago leaders fought alongside their people. (Just to point out I am a pacifist and this is just an example)- good question :-)

Yes, but find a better system, trouble is the most money wins, a common person with good common sense could do a better job but do not have the possibility to become elected to office due to the money involved.

Been tiried of it for a long time.
However, they keep volenteering. Not to bright but they want to die for this man's ideas right or wrong.
Did the same thing for Johnston and found out he was a crook and commistic fobic. 56,000 died i n viet nam
They just pick out a man right or wrong and give there life for him.
always have always will. Men aren't to bright.

No, but it's happened many times before, people are sick of it and go into politics themselves to change it and end up becoming the thing they hated. ex. fidel castro rebels against cruel dictator, after about a year, becomes one in order to stay in power....

I say we all run for some sort of office in our area to put a stop to some of this lower level stuff.
It's a start to end this madness that's been created.
If you want to get something done, do it yourself rather than talking about it just do it.

I agree with you 100%. The Stem Cell decision is yet another prime example of this.

You're not the only one, but if you think our politicians have any control over our policy anymore you're fooling yourself.
