Question for DJs, or just music instruments experts?

I am thinking of buying headphones, for my dorm, ipod, and just in general. but i don't really know which ones to get. i need something that sounds great at high volumes( ganna turn deaf soon but whatever) and where the bass doesn't shake my head open. Anyone knows of the Sony MDRV 700s? Or the Pioneer HDJ1000. I'm willing to pay $150 for great headphone which won't fall apart in 1 year cause their made in China. Thanks!
