Any opportunity that guarantees that you'll make money is a scam and something to stay away from. Working from home may be convenient, but it still takes hard work and lots of effort in order to make money.
Also be wary of any opportunity that you need to pay for .. aside from something like Direct Sales opportunities where you are actually paying for a start up kit.
Your best bet is to turn something that you love doing into a business. This way you're sure to be passionate about it, and believe in your business.
Sticking with it and learning are the keys.. most home businesses fail within the first year - people all to often think they just have to set up a website with a few products on it and hundreds of buyers will magically appear. Unfortunately it doesn't work this way.
HTH!

If you are at least 18 and live in the US or Canada, this company may be a good fit for you. I started working with this company and made $700 my first month (not bad for "on the side" eh?). The retirement plan is about 3-5 years. It is an awesome service, no PRODUCTS to sell and the company has been in business for 30 years and is publicly traded on the NYSE. If you want to check into that go to http://www.nyse.com/ and in the upper right hand corner click Symbol Lookup and choose Ticker Symbol and type in PPD, this company will show up there. I work this business from home, and when I am out and about doing what I normally would do in a day anyway. It is really easy because it's a great service and people see the need and value in it.
Check out http://prepaidlegal.com/hub/cdmallicoat... and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Good luck!

They do work it is just a matter of finding the one that works for you. I have been working from home with a great company that has been in business for a little over twenty years and have been members in good standing with the BBB ever since they opened their doors. They were also awarded the BBB's Hall of Fame award at the end of 2005. I don't have to host parties, stock, sell or deliver products. I don't even have to worry about collecting any money. There are some that do work to bring you $500-5000 extra. I am a quadriplegic and have my own home-based business. I found something i believe in and keeps me at home with my son or if I have a business meeting he goes with me. Find a product that the baby boomers need. Get into a business that will be in front of what they need. They will be into skin care products to keep themselves looking young. They will need vitamins to keep them healthy. They all need wills so things are taken care of. And in today's time, identity theft protection because its the fastest growing crime in America. My business offers the last two. Check it out!!!

I have never heard of any of them fulfilling the promises made. And I have heard of people getting hopelessly in debt because of them.

Of course not, or we'd all be millionaires. Don't get sucked in by the cons.

i doubt it very much. For one thing, if they were making sooo much money, why are they always so desperate to get others in on it?
