well when your on the pill it can have side effects or you miss a day to take the pill

Any of these:
missing a day
not taking it the same time every day
taking a missed pill with a regular dose
Some of them have "breakthru" bleeding as a side effect.

if you just started the pill it takes about 3 months to fully kick in ya they say 1 month but whatever 3 months is safer and it might not be kicked in the system just yet.also i know for myself i had that and i had to change my pills to a different kind till i found one that suited ME.could be that. miss a day, different times stuff like that can affect it also.
