Sorry, if I offended any of my fellow "oppressed" people with this question. But I was bored out of my mind win I tried to watch this crap.

Before May of 05, I thought the same. It is an extremely long time to watch tv and I have heard people make a comment about how can cars driving round and round in a circle be exciting-- well it can be. I had never watched a Nascar race or heard of anyone, Then I watched one race and it was interesting enough to make me want to watch it again the next week. Now, 14+months later I am more than hooked. I have been to 3 Nascar races in my state and they are wild and worth every penny. If you enjoy the racing, and have a driver you root for every week, it becomes exciting and less boring. You either love it or hate it. Just like Jeff Gordon-LOVE him, but HATE that #20 car-the obnoxiousTony Stewart! Nascar isn't for everyone but it has become the most popular sport in the United States. Try attending a race and decide from there. Good Luck.

Well it helps to know a little bit about the drivers and the sport. If you had a driver or a group of drivers that you pulled for that also would help.NASCAR drivers are not just driving around for four hours they must constantly give feed back to the crew chief as to how the car is handling is it loose or tight going into or out of the corners, does the car have enough bite coming up out of the turn what kind of adjustments does the car need and so on.Now as for me I like all kinds of sports,football.baseball.basketball,boxing and most other sports that I know a little bit about. Now I don't know squat about hockey or soccer so I don't watch them because I know I wouldn't like them but I wouldn't put them down or call them crap just because I don't understand them.Bottom line if your interested in NASCAR (which doesn't appear to be the case) try to learn something about the sport, like what it takes to keep those cars running and handling good for those four hours or pick a driver to root for.At any rate it wont be the end of the world for you or NASCAR if you don't like the sport, just go with what you know.

If you have more then one driver it is easy. I got mad Sunday at Tony. People get mad watching 4 1/2 hours of cars driving around the track sometimes.

Maybe they've already gone "mad" before watching it? I agree with some of what the others said like how can someone sit through a whole baseball game or watch people belting out words to songs at the top of their lungs? Different people like different things that's what makes the country great (and entertaining).

Because real FANS of any type of sport, even 'stick and ball' sports, learn about and know that it's more than what you see during a game, or race for that matter.
I like to watch racing, just like some people like American football and some would rather watch soccer.
I don't need instant gratification. I like watching racing because I know the background, the history, the drivers, crew chiefs, terminology, tech, the different racing venues, like people who like other sports know almost everything there is to know about their fave sports and players.
I grew up around racing fans and had a brother-in-law who was an amateur racer who taught me there's more to racing than what you see.
I think racecars even look cool.
You can't say that all motorsports are driving around a track.......... ever see NHRA drag racing, off-road racing, or motocross?
I choose to be a NASCAR and NHRA fan. That's what I like, and to each their own.

We race fans feel the same about American Idol, golf or WWE. Why would you sit and watch a fake event with men beating ech other with chairs? Hockey is rather boring. Baseball mostly has folks standing waiting for a ball. If you understood the strategy and teamwork in the pits, you might enjoy it more. Fantasy games help too.

If u have ever raced or maybe even played the games it makes it more interesting because u know what the driver is going threw. BTW for all u who think its just dumb rednecks who watch nascar yall r stupid. I have a 135 IQ. So go kiss a *** pieces of ****. One more thing nascar drivers and crew members and people involved with them r a whole lot smarter then most of this country. Go Jr. and Jeff Gordan I hope u wreck.

Think about the guy driving around in circles for 4 and a half hours. Now he must really be mad!

You must be bored now too, to ask questions about something you don't care about! What a life!

"But I was bored out of my mind win I tried to watch this crap"....WIN? Who's the redneck here? It's WHEN, not win...and that obviously isn't a typo!

Nascar folk are simple people. They are amused by something shiny going around in circles. I just watch highlights of crashes on the news. That's fun!
