I have been to Iran before.. and it is certainly one of the most beautiful counties in the world :-))) And I hope to visit again inshallah..

For the other answerer he has his facts wrong..
1)Iran has many religious minorities such as Christians, Jews and Zoarastians..and they are not only allowed to practice their religion in peace as proscribed by the Quran but each as a set minimum quota of MP's that sit in the parliament...

2)The Iranian government does not force anybody to pray five times a day...And myself as a Sunni Muslim visitor was surprised how little people pray there, or care about getting the right time. The only major important pray time there is friday pray and that is a social event and of course not compulsory....
Iran is majority Shia country and they are allowed to conjoin their 5 daily prays into 3 times a day..So even the most religious Mullah would not force someone to pray 5 times a day !!!! And of course no one gets beheaded for not praying!!!

I'm sure it's great, just don't forget to pray 5 times a day or you'll get you're head cut off. It has a theocratic government. ( that's when the religion (Muslim) runs the government for those of you who live in California)
