1. The report you cite as your source demonstrates the parity between REPUBLICANS and DEMOCRATS, not conservatives and liberals. Almost all conservatives are Republicans, but the liberal side of the spectrum is divided up between Democrats, Greens, Independents, Natural Law, Libertarians and countless other splinter groups. Therefore your supposition is ludicrous and spurious.

2. Democrats have always been a party of THE PEOPLE, meaning the average blue-collar guy/gal who goes to work every day, works hard and expects to be paid a fair wage for the labor he/she has put in. This skews the party demographic towards labor, and away from academia.

Oh, and you'll note that in the study you cite, Democrats LEAD Republicans in post-grad studies. So Dems have more HIGHLY educated members than Republicans.

3. 64% of all blacks identify themselves as Democrats. And because of reasons to numerous to mention here, blacks traditionally achieve less in scholastic endeavors than whites. That could certainly skew the data.

Here's my question to you: Did you READ the study that you are citing? Are you just some Neo-Con ditto-head that wants to stir up some kind of SH*T on the Yahoo Answers boards? If so then tell me... how many of the words that I used in my response did you have to look up in a dictionary?

You have misread the data, while Republicans have narrowed the "education gap" in recent years, Democrats still hold a narrow lead among the educated classes. Historically speaking educated people tend to be more liberal than those people with less education.

Even as a conservative, I really wouldn't go that far. I'd say that there are both equally educated cons/libs out there. It's how the individual uses the critical thinking skills he/she picked up in college.
