I just watched bad lads where a number of petty criminals are thrown back in 1950s style national service in Britain, eventually this regime reveals the fact that all the "criminals" are just deep down normal people with just a few problems..eg.sploilt, communication problems, poor people skills, unable to express. The programme seems to sort them out and make decent fellas of them.

Without a shadow of a doubt, in fact both of my cousins in Spain have to do it for two years b4 going to uni, what arm does it do ?
If just 5 bad lads go on the straight and narrow then that would for a start save the tax payer at least £40.000 a year, you never know you may enjoy it, after all the military is the worlds biggest school... I could go on and on

Yes, this country would not be in the state it is in now if we didn't scrap it. The biggest problem i believe in Britain today is that there is no fear of punishment as our prison system is more like a Holiday camp rather an a form of punishment.

It's about time they did something instead of pussyfooting around the little sh*ts all the time. Too many bleeding hearts around and since they stopped smacking it's getting worse and worse. Kids have no respect for anyone anymore, and if you do confront them about their behaviour all you get is "what you gona do about it?" Even the police can't deal with them anymore.
Stick the lot of them in the army and see how they like that!!!

I don't think bringing back national service will do this country any harm at all!!
I think it will help people learn respect, develop their people skills and all in all become good citizens.
We live in a multi-cultural society. I think this would be a good idea to develop relations too.

I would say definately, but then I think of my brother, and he's 20 and he's all little and cute and he can't possibly be sent to a place where big men yell at him! And if I think this about my brother then what'll I be like when I have kids?
It would make England have a couple of decent men, and it'd do wonders for us, but what about your mum?

No im sorry, peronaly i dont belive NS should ever be brought back. it takes away Human Freewill, and peoples rights to chose.
I would rather go to prison and be raped than join the army. belive me if they EVER bring that back i will be out of here faster than you can say "Screw The Govenment"
