If so, why do you do it? What would be the most effective way to stop YOU from bullying?

No, I was the abused one who held it in and exploded. I tried to walk away instead of exploding, but sometimes it was too much and enter into a verbal or physical fight - then all around looked at me like "What's her problem?". Anyway, now that I'm an adult, I tell bullies off in a nice relaxed way and turn the tables. I can do this effectively because I know what the bullies are - they are people who are scared and lack confidence who look for anyway they can to feel better about themselves...including bullying other people around them. Still, although I now can easily take control in these types of situations, what I went through as a child haunts me to this day.

that's a good question....I'm not a bully but I'm sure that most bully's out there don't even no why they do it! I personally think it's because they have low self esteem and don't feel good about themselves and take that out on other people. I think the best way to stop a bully is to not let them get to you and they will eventually leave you alone.

I found out years after that I was a bully at my primary school, I didn't think I was because yeh I wasn't nice to everyone but only to people that could defend themselves and stuff. The thing that made me realise was when I was once naughty in year 6, and I was sent to the library, and a girl from my class was there and she showed me a picture in a book of a bruise, and she said "thats what you did to me". Now I'm the total opposite, I'm really shy and overly nice.
I am sorry about it, I wouldn't dream of doing it again, and I have appologised to some people from my school. It could be because my first two years of school I had to be taken to and from by this childminder who had two older kids and they used to get mud on my new uniform and spit on me and just, basically pick on me pretty bad. I'm not trying to make that an excuse, I'm just saying that I bet all bullies have had their problems, I don't know - I do feel bad, and I do think about people that I hurt.

No, I have never been a bully. The reason why bullies do what they do is, because the only way they can be big, is by putting some one weaker than themselves down.

No, I am not a bully and I can say from experience that diffusing one is hard- but the calmer I remain, the more the tension drops!
