Usually November has cold windy weather in Oklahoma. We have a lot of rain and sleet that time of year, but few snow days. I would say the high's could be around 50's, and low's near freezing. If the sun is out, that could make a difference though. I would dress in long-sleeve and jeans and a heavy coat.

There's not much to do in McAlester, except to watch the cows or the local state prison, so take a few days to go to Tulsa or OKC. Check out the Riverwalk in Tulsa or Bricktown in OKC.

I live in Tulsa. McAlester is not too far from here. It is hilly and there are lakes around there. It is a nice place to vacation. You can visit the prison, and make fun.
Weather in Oklahoma is famous for changing in a matter of minutes. In November, it should be rather cold, (30-40's) not snowing, but blowing wind, ice, and miserable. The sun will probably be shining.
It could be 80 or it could be snowing. Watch the weather channel or ask later in the year for a better idea. Travel light and buy a coat, if you need to. We have stores here. Welcome!

One famous Oklahoman named Will Rogers once said, "If you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, stick around it will change." I suggest you pack for any weather. Seriously I would check the weather a couple days before you leave England then pack your bags.
I have been to Europe before and I know you are limited on the size and weight of your baggage. The beauty of it all is that we have WAL MART. If you get here and need something most likely you can find it much cheaper here than England.

You could as your girlfriend...*grins. It can go either way. You never know. It can be warm, cool, rainy or freezing cold and snowing. We have ever changing, unpredictable weather here. Be careful....some really strange people live in that part of the state. Don't get off the main roads and don't make any trouble. Do go see the Talimena skyline drive. It should be lovely in early November if the weather isn't bad.
