You are allowed 300mg of caffeine a day when you are pregnant. The worst thing about soda is that its empty calories. No nutrition for the energy. I love flavored teas. They are flavored with cinnamon, ginger, fruits. And I use splenda for sugar. You can also get these teas in caffeine free which is what I do. They sell these at Wal-Mart in the aisle with the rest of the tea...I really loved African or maybe it was Moroccan. Pomegranate.

Here are a few things you should watch out for on the ingredients: Herbal teas can be soothing, and pregnant women bothered by nausea and vomiting may be tempted to use them. But they should not be taken without the advice of a health care provider. Large amounts of some herbal teas, including peppermint and red raspberry leaf, are thought to cause uterine contractions and may increase the risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. This also is true of many herbal tablets, capsules and extracts, including black or blue cohosh, ephedra, dong quai, feverfew, juniper, pennyroyal, St. John's wort, rosemary and thuja.

Caffene is really not harmful. I wouldn't drink nothing but soda and tea, but you can have one soda or tea now and again, but most doctors won't tell you that.

If you keep drinking the water though, just try to stick with it, you should get use to it and not crave anything else because you will feel better with more energy. It actually helps with all sorts of cravings.

Water really is the best thing to drink but I can feel ya on the flavor thing:) I think Juicy-juice is good for you(it is 100% juice, no artificial crap) and orange juice and apple juice is good too. I think you can still drink a sprite or 7-up once in a while just nothing with caffeine and limit yourself to like one 7-up or sprite per month. Water, water, water!! The more water the better. Drink flavored things with meals but throughout the day drink water, water water and more water. Congrats on the baby and good for you for taking care of your babies health!:)

If you like tea you can get decaffeinated. It tastes just as good as regular. There are also lightly flavored waters but they contain aspartame which is known to cause cancer in high doses. So, I wouldn't drink too many of those if you are pregnant. As with all things talk to your doctor to see what is the most healthy for your baby.

Try drinking fruit juices. They do have lots of sugar in them, but not the caffine, or the carbination that soda has in it.
