Controller Functions?
The primary controller for the Wii uses a one-handed, remote control-based design. The controller communicates wirelessly with the console via Bluetooth.[1] It features an integrated accelerometer, which allows it to sense linear motion along three axes, as well as tilt. The controller also contains a tracking image sensor, which, in tandem with a sensor bar, gives the controller light gun-like pointer capabilities within 5 meters (approx. 16.5 ft.) of the screen.[1] [18] Up to four controllers can be connected at once and operated as far as ten meters from the console.[1] The remote also possesses force-feedback capabilities and an internal audio speaker, and can be utilized as an NES gamepad when rotated, as well as a pointing device. The Wii-mote features 6KB of "non-volatile" memory. It can run up to 60 hours using only the accelerometer function with two alkaline AA batteries and up to 30 hours when using the precision aim.[18] The buttons on the contoller are digital and include a D-Pad, A, B, 1, 2, -, +, and Power buttons as well as a SYNC button located underneath the battery cover.
The Wii Remote can be augmented by various add-ons. Announced expansions include: a Nunchuk controller (which also has limited motion sensing capabilities) featuring an analog stick and two additional digital buttons (C and Z), a Classic Controller for playing Virtual Console and GameCube games, and a "Zapper Style" shell for First-person shooter gameplay which also includes a control stick on the top.[1]
In an interview, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo hopes to allow Wii controllers to be personalized for each gamer. Applications would include different game settings determined by the preferences of the controller that turned on the console.[19]
COMPETITION?
You must pick the Wii because it will be A LOT more fun than the other consoles because of the innovative gameplay that only the Wiimote is capable of offering. Also because of the popular and FUN frachises that Nintendo has like Zelda, Mario, Super Smash Bros. , Mario Party, Metroid, etc. IT IS THE ONLY CONSOLE IN THE MARKET THAT IS CHANGING THE WAY WE PLAY GAMES, IS ALLOWING US TO BE PART OF THE GAME

Size? About 3 dvd cases thick, and about that tall
Price? Announcement coming in Spetember on the pric, but will be under $250
Controller? Well, ituses an acceleratorometer. It has a speaker in the controller....and its the most innovative thing I've seen in years.
Competition? Well, PS3's launch titles, look like Xbox games. And $60 price point? Are you kidding? As for Xbox 360...well I can't put up a fight there! Just that the Wii is more innovative and cheaper!

The controller has a built in motion sensor, the console is the size of three stacked DVD cases and it has a WI-FI feature enabling the chance to download old NES, SNES and N64 games as well as Sega Megadrive (Genesis if you're from the US) games. Can also communicate wirelessly with the DS.
Price- no idea, but almost certainly going to be cheaper than the PS3 and X-Box 360.
Games: Expect a Mario game and Zelda game, plus a Metriod game.

dude the wii is awesome because 1.it`s the cheapest next generation console(the wii :240$ xbox360 $400-$500 PS3 $500-$600((the $500 one is useless)))2. its only about the size of three stacked DVD`s (so advertised)3.the controler is meant to be motion activated so you controll aim, sword slashing, and much more with the wave of your hand it detects left, right, up, down, even for word, back and your speed! 4.a unique ability is a. Nintendo wi-fi24(unlimited access)for FREE! and you can download a ton of Sega, PS2(including final fantasy),dream cast and former Nintendo system games! and last is the games (this is an extremely short list compared) super smash bros. brawl, a new sonic game, the legend of Zelda twilight princes, and a load more!(e3insider.com has a way more complete list of games)(note:do not import from china only buy from the USA. foran versions of any system may have problems with the american versions of games)
