My current lifestyle has me in a situation where I need to move away from parents. Mostly for my own sanity reasons. Right now i can afford $300 a month in payments. Roommate stories makes that option too questionable for my liking. I know i reserve a right to live on my own but no thanks to our current economy, that is the financial goal of out of pocked expense that i can immediately deal with. Any recommendations on pulling this off. I prefer to own a condo rather than rent an appartment as well. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Well you won't really find anything for that price range. However, maybe you could find roomates to live with. Google your hometown and roomates.

LOLOLOL That's funny! Do you honestly think that you can rent a place for that?

Let's see, the going rent on dumps here in my town is around $600 a month. That does NOT include utilities, which will run you another at least $400 a month.

Not to mention, do you want to eat? Or have gas in your car?

You're stuck if you opt out of having roommates (which I don't recommend roommates anyway, even if it's your best friend).

You need to find a way to drum up more income or you're going nowhere. Especially not a condo! You would not be able to get a mortgage with a payment like that, either.

the economy is great. Problem is not with the economy it is with you deciding you are old enough to live on your own, but have no assets, no income, and want to own a condo with no roommates. How about this? Suck it up, stay at home, get into college. Get a degree, a job, then an appt.

Move into a group home or a boarding house. A basement apartment or some rooms in private house might work. Check the rooms for rent ads.

on 300 a month you won't be owning a condo soon. Is that your total disposable income or just what you can spend on living accomodation? renting a basement suite might be in your price range.

Sorry, darlin..a roomate it shall be. Try college campus bulletin boards or Internet sites like craigslist. Either that or contact a real estate office... maybe someone whose home isn't selling and needs some income would be willing to do a "courtesy rental."

You won't make it on your own with that kind of income....you will have to find someone to live with, or a wife or husband that makes a good income.
