Oklahoma is on Central standard time, so it is 6 hours behind England. I'm not sure what you mean by summer holiday. Schools are out for the summer, but, unlike many places in Europe, we don't have a specific time during the summer that many people have time off work. So, I guess to answer you question, it is summer holiday just for schools and colleges.

I'm not sure how many hours Oklahoma is behind England...But I would say that summer is here from May-August (not necessarily being a holiday...since people are working, but kids are out of school).

I don't know how far behind we are, but you could go to a library or bank and find out. It is 4:23 pm here.
Some of us Americans are on holiday. Some of us have to work. Most of our children get out of school in late May, and then the teachers, bus drivers, students, and others, are out of work and school 'til about late August. Some have other jobs, and some go on unemployment, and get paid to sit home and eat.
I have grown children and work full-time so I am not on holiday, but I did take a week off for paid vacation in June.
This is pretty much the same way everywhere, even in Oklahoma (Central Daylight Savings Time). We have bathtubs, cell phones, cars, Tivos, and more than one pair of shoes, just like civilized folks. Come over and check us out. We hardly ever bite.
