I'm a huge fan of her & people tell me I should let her go, but I can't. She died on me & my twin sister's 18th b-day. Aaliyah is like an inspirational sister to me. Is there anything wrong with me listening to her music or watching her videos. Many of my family members make fun of me for being an Aaliyah fan. Also, they tell me I shouldn't be listening to her music nor watching her videos. They think I need 2 be locked up in the mental institution for being a fan of her.
I'm a huge Aaliyah fan because she inspired me in many positive ways and left a great legacy for all her fans. She was very down to earth and cool, and I live by many of her quotes. My best friend, Kristina reminds me of Aaliyah in a lot of ways.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF SOMEONE WHO IS MOURNING OR THAT LOVES SOMEONE.
SHE WAS AN EXTREMELY TALENTED.BEAUTIFUL PERSON.
AT TIMES I FELT LIKE SHE WASN'T REAL.
SHE WAS A HARD WORKER WHO LOVED HER FANS,HER FAMILY,LIFE AND WHAT SHE WAS DOING(SINGING,DANCING AND ACTING)
BEFORE SHE DIED SHE ACTUALLY WAS GOING TO START A CLOTHING LINE WITH KIDDADA JONES.
AND IF YOU GOTO YOUTUBE THEY HAVE SOME OF HER DELETED MATRIX SCENES THERE.
JUST TYPE IN:AALIYAH MATRIX.
WHEN I SEE SOME OF THESE ARTIST OUT RIGHT NOW,I GET MORE AND MORE ANGRIER EVERY YEAR.
IT MAKES NO SENSE(HER DEATH)
AND EVERY YEAR THAT GOES BY,DOESN'T MAKE IT EASIER FOR ME EITHER.
SO WHAT IF SHE DIED 5 YRS AGO.
I CAN MOURN AND YOU CAN MOURN AS LONG AS YOU WANT TO.

SHE DIED SO LONG AGO.

ANYWAY SHE WAS DEFINATELY ONE OF A KIND.

I am one of Aaliyah's biggest fans mainly because her songs were written in a particular style that I like. They reflected the city of Chicago and the life that exists inside it. I think people in your family are jealous of someone who was so beautiful and talented as well as successful. They're what you call "haters." No one ever forgot about George Washington Carver, did they? What about Benjamin Franklin, or Sonny and Cher? What about Red Foxx (Sanford and Son)? Sammy Davis Junior?

Wow I am aging myself here but I can remember the first day that "back and forth" came out and I went out and bought her first album I still have it and still listen to it all the time.
She inspired me in a lot of ways when I was in my teenage years and still find her lyrics uplifting.
No you don't need to be locked up I am with you, Don't let others tell you what you should like or who. Keep yourself grounded and brush off the negative attention it seems to be bringing you.

i think she is an amazing person. she has a voice of an angle. i love her music and some of the movies she has been in. i think she has made a great impact towards everyone. and as you can see she has made a big impact on me!!!
