Our duct system is flexduct with a fiberglass distabution box, I would like to know if I removed the distrabution box and installed wye's and dampers,would that help the valum of air toeach room?

properly dampering your ducts will help increase air flow to desired areas of your home,,but you only have so much air ,it will not add more air , it will destribute it more evenly, watch that you do not over damper ,it will burn your fan up, so the answer is yes it will help, if properly installed

No that would not help by removing the distribution box. What would happen is if it is a 6 inch tube, you would have 110 cubic feet per minute (cfm) of air flow. If you to put in a Wye, then you split the air flow in half. Another word, your main tube (single tube before the Wye) will have 110 cfm's of air flow. On the other side of the same tube after the Wye, each will only have 55 cfm's, decreasing the air flow by half. Your duct work is designed for air flow and is dictated by your blower motor of your furnace or air handler. Another way I can explain is if you have a three ton blower motor on your furnace, then you need at least 1200 cfms of duct to deliver to your floor registers. It's all mathematically done under CFM's

for the past few yrs. we have gone to the round main supply! less dead spots in the duct......and research shows air flows easier! we always use dampers from the main to the feeders........the trick to a good hvac system is even air flow and plenty of returns.....along with a good heat loss gain calculation.

It might help a little bit, but I don't believe you are losing that much pressure in the box. For me, it would not be worth the trouble and expense. See if you can adjust your blower speed. Some blowers have multiple grooves on the pulley and you can increase or decrease the blower speed OR you may need a new blower??

I'd ask a professional, that can get very expensive before you know it. You might try going to a website like hvac.com or duct work.com, someone might be willing to tell you free of charge.
