Maybe everyone assumed Hezbollah was a bunch of wimpy kooks. I think Israel will find out differently.
Does this scenario sound familiar? An arrogant superpower invades a weak, poor Islamic nation and finds itself in the fight of its life? I thought Israel was smarter to repeat what the Soviets did in Afghanistan. (Then again I thought we were smarter to repeat what we did in Vietnam)

The thing about Hezbollah is they are funded by Iran...supported entirely by them...they will just crawl back into their holes and let innocent people die and resurface in about ten years

I wouldn't count Israel out just yet. If there is any country in the world that knows how to fight a war, and has the will to do it to completion it's Israel. As for the Vietnam parallel, I really wish the anti war crowd would get some new material. It's like being locked in a room and having to listen to Shecky Greene's (old Jewish one-liner king for those who don't know) routine playing on a continuous loop. Don't get me wrong I fully support your right to hold any opinion you want. Hate the war, hate the administration, it's all ok with me, but trying to compare Vietnam and Iraq is like comparing apples and oranges. Yeah they are both types of fruit, but that's where the similarities end. Keep thinking critically! There nothing wrong with questioning that which you don't agree with.

The weak, poor country of Lebanon couldn't keep the Hezbollah terrorists from taking over. That's one reason that peaceful Lebonese people are getting out, because they are caught in the crossfire. Israelis will do what they have to do, destroying what they can of Hezbollah. They won't get them all, but hopefully they will kill or capture the leaders and destroy their weapons. Hezbollah may find the Israelis aren't big on taking prisoners.

Israel has the strongest military in the Middle East. They will prevail over Hezbollah and once they do, they'll pull out of Lebanon.

israel has a well trained and motivated army, and this is familiar territory. the israeli public can handle a large death toll among it's forces as long as they are commited to stopping israeli citizens being killed.
