Sorry Pat, looks like nobody wants to answer a real question. But the silence answers your question. The liberals are afraid to commit to any position until the poll numbers are released.

Rarely is anything black & white. Just because some liberals aren't calling for a ceasefire, doesn't mean they support Bush. It's a multiple choice issue. :)

For my part, I consider myself liberal, I think there should be an immediate ceasefire, and I'll never support Bush.

I don't think liberals in the United States have any kind of unified voice that could say what their stance on lebanon is. It should be the Democrats, but they became weak and spineless when Bushco Inc started calling them unpatriotic. I was a Goldwater Republican which today makes me slightly liberal (not that anyone knows what either of those terms mean anymore). So, after watching everything that has gone down in the last 5 years, here is my stance.

GO WAR MONGERS of the world, I sincerely hope all of you vanquish all your enemies.

Yes, there should be an immediate ceasefire and no it shouldn't be contingent on acceptance of Bush's all or nothing plan. Its real easy to say that we should press for a cease fire until we have a plan that will result in a permanent cease fire when your not the one getting shot at.

I know you people like blaming Bush for everything but this is getting ridiculous. Do you really think our president can call a ceasefire in Lebanon? Israel is taking out their own trash, we should let them.

You are wrong. From Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio)'s blog:

... I have introduced legislation, H.Con.Res.450, calling upon the President to appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence and to commit US diplomats to multi-party negotiations.
