I was asked to spy on a cheating husband and his girlfriend. She will pay me $500 for actual photos and video of them kissing or showing signs of affection. Sounds like an easy buck to me since I have Fridays off, but I never done this before. Has anybody else done this before and if so can you give me some pointers or advice?

I have relatively little experience in this area, but I can tell you a few things.

First, it's not as easy as you think, because it is difficult to track down a person without having them notice (i.e. going to a restaurant which will obviously be somewhat far away from the husband's house).

Second, it's essential to know when the husband is away from home (this you can get from the worrying wife), and see if you can establish a daily or weekly pattern.

Third, you need to find out if there is a specific place the husband will go to, particularly if it is cyclical (i.e. he goes there every Friday night). Then, you should follow the car from origin (the workplace, perhaps) to first destination (maybe picking up the girlfriend). An essential tactic here is to find out where the endpoints are, but not get noticed while following the car. For example, if the car you are following is going to turn into a residential development, it's wise not to turn with him. Instead, make note of where that was, and turn back within 5 minutes. Don't slow down when you spot him, as it would draw attention. Finally, if there are more endpoints you need to spot, use a different vehicle or spot them during the next cycle.

Finally, hope that they will be in a well-lit restaurant somewhere, where you can simply take a camera, place it underneath a napkin, and start snapping away!

Creativity is essential here.

Everyone above did a great job answering your question and giving pointers. So I'll just add one last thing.

Keep in mind that whatever you do might lead to being handed a subpoena at some later date, by either the lady you work for or the husband you spy on. You should presume that this whole matter may end up in divorce court (or related matters) and right now you don't know what your camera will show or in whose favor it might be , or that of your personal observations and notes.

So before accepting the offer of employment, consider the long range implications for yourself.

Be careful, most States require a licence, even if only a bussiness licence to do this. Otherwise it is not admissible in court or the "victims" (the cheating husband) can sue you for invasion of privacy! Check your State laws on weather you need a licence or not. Some just require a form to be filled out and no money so it's easy.

You also will have to be willing to sit in a car for hours, no bathroom breaks, no turning it on for heat or cooling, etc.
