I keep asking myself that question . . . I think that's just how love goes. I believe that love is something we aren't really meant to understand.

You can love and hate not at the same time, which is logically impossible, but the presence of love (extreme positive emotion) allows for the presence of hate (extreme negative emotion) which is its logical opposite.

You shouldnt be able to hate them and love them at the same time. You can hate what they do, but if you love them for real, it will be unconditional!

You can only hate someone you love. If you have no feelings for someone, you would feel nothing!
