Schools do have dress codes. the codes are there to make sure everyone is dressed properly and do not stand out (too much) or cause distractions to other students (or teachers).
BTW....Girls, women, ladies... If you are wearing clothes that make you feel "sexy", guess what, you are a distraction. And if you have to resort to showing off a lot of yourself then don't be surprised when that is all the guys want from you.
Try being attractive with your personality. (Sorry, I know I went off subject a little)

School is a difficult enough environment without allowing all sorts of "extreme" clothing. The purpose of school is to prepare you for things you will be expected to do as an adult. If you focus on dressing well, or dressing extreme, you will have that much less attention to give to the learning process.
Some students, boys in particular, are easily distracted by revealing clothing.
There are quite a few students who can't keep up with the "popular" look. Some can't afford to buy the "popular" clothes.
IMHO, these are all valid arguments for having a dress code.

I definitly think school should have dress codes. Im seventeen and Ive seen the reprocusions of not having them. Its just gross what girls can get away with. Even if there IS a dress code. Our Principle is a perv so he lets girls walk around with skimpy tops and shor skirts... They are so revealing sometimes that its not even fashionable! He gets away with letting them untill a teacher reports them to the office and he cant do anything about it. Dress codes are good and keep peoples eyes on the prize and not something else

If all schools had dress codes better yet uniforms the students will be more focused on their classes instead of placing their focus on who has the best most expensive pair of shoes or the latest style of jeans. There would be less of a social, income, or class separation. It's harder to make fun of someones clothes when they are wearing the same thing you are.

I'd agree that schools should have dress codes. They solve a number of problems. They minimize class differences, minimze competition between students, eliminate offensive shirts/slogans... Basically get rid of a lot of disruptive influences to the education process.

My highschool have been given one in basic terms as I graduated. My sister had to handle a uniform (khakis and particular colored shirts) for the time of faculty. She did no longer whinge on the subject of the dress code, she complained approximately people having intercourse everywhere.

It is very important that school children wear uniform because it gives them a sense of identity, they feel that they belong to something bigger than them. It encourages smartness and a sense of pride in their appearance. it is also a good way of hiding the fact that some kids families have money and some have not, the designer kids and the poor kids are therefore equal.
Discipline is also improved in schools.

I went to school in another country and uniforms were used by everyone, public or private schools.
It created a sense of unity and equality as well as it helped you to develop a personality without hiding behind your clothes and looks.
It was all about school, sports and education. NEVER about fashion...
