Some people do it because of their religion, others do it for hygiene.

Historically it was believed to be more sanitary, and it became a religious practice, kind of like not eating pork. There is no reason to do it in modern times. It is an ancient and barbaric practice that is not medically necessary. Boys with intact foreskins simply need to be taught proper hygene practices as they grow older and the foreskin separates from the head. Circumcision removes large amounts of nerve endings that obviously have an effect on sexual stimulation in adults. Circumcision is also a dangerous procedure, and many complications can occur from having it done, or done improperly. In America today, only a little more than half of all boys are circumcised. DON'T DO IT!!!

Having no frame of reference, how could he even frame the question? If you were blind from birth, "what if he grows up and discovers he would rather see" ??? I think only a girl would even think that. A circumcised male can't get it back and an uncircumcised male probably won't let a scalpel near his penis!!! Perhaps you are wondering if you should have your male kids circumcised?

The primary motivations were religous and mistaken ideas of cleanliness. Apparently it serves no useful purpose other than to deny more nerves that would be stimulated during sex. It's probably the whacked puritan idea that sexual pleasure is sinful or something...just speculating. If I were having kids I do not think I would do it in light of knowing that there is no reason for it. If a child has a strong religious conviciton that he should be circumcised, let him decide when he's 18 (or 21 or whatever the age of majority is where you are).

That depends - some religions circumcise baby boys as part of their religious culture - the Jewish faith does this and I think (but am open to correction) that the Islamic faith does the same thing.

Outside of cultural and religious reasons sometimes the foreskin in baby boys is too tight - either born that way or the result of getting an infection like a fungal infection (thrush is a fungal infection for example) Then they have pain and difficulty in passing urine and are often circumcised to solve the problem

Traditionally it was to show the compact that God made with Issac. An example of that too would let other Hebrews know that they were Hebrews as well. Joseph probably showed his penis to is family to let them know it was he and he was one of them.
Medically speaking however, Circumcision helps keep the penis from garnering infections. Men with rather than without have lower cases of STDs, bacterial infections and numerous other things. Those who go without tend to get one later in life because of numerous infections. Do it ot your child while they can't remeber it.

It is mainly a religious thing. Don't ask me why religious people like to be circumsized, though, because I am not religious. Also, it has to do with aesthetics and during WWII, it was thought that the foreskin made it more likely for a man to get penile cancer, so they were removed from all baby boys.

It is both a religious practice (Jewish, mainly) and a preventative measure. It is more likely for a young boy to have infections and irritation if he is not circumcised.

If you believe in God, men were created with foreskins.
Then one day God realized he made a mistake so he told his profit Abraham to fix it with the circumcision.
God had to circumcise himself because the Bible says God created man in his own image.

If you believe in evolution, men evolved to have foreskins.
If Abraham was right, men will eventually evolve to not have foreskins.
