I know that yahoo went down a few days ago, but I am still unable to connect although others are. Why is this?

I've tried to sign in under a few names and tried to create new names; I've tried to uninstall then reinstall messanger; I can see that others are connected when I view my yahoo mail list; however, I am still unable to connect... Anyone got any great ideas?

messenger was down for awhile. the yahoo guys were fiddling with it.
