Frequently! My wife works for a no-kill animal shelter here in Maryland and I keep a leash in my car at all times in case I find a stray. Two weeks ago I drove an hour to pick up a cutie of a Rottweiler that was due to be put down at another shelter and transferred him to my wife's.
Please, anyone who reads this, adopt your next dog or cat. There are literally millions of wonderful cats and dogs in need of homes, so please go to your local shelter and become a hero! In addition, most shelter animals have had all their shots, are given a full physical, and already spayed or neutered. Add this to the savings versus buying from a breeded and what is an act of heroism also becomes the smart financial choice.

Yes, we have saved 2 homeless animals, a dog and a cat. We love them both dearly...they are some of the best pets we've ever had! The dog we got from a dog rescue place, actually; we found her and the rescue place through petfinder.com. The cat found us; we called around, but he didn't belong to anyone around here, so we figured he was a wild cat, and we took him in and adopted him, essentially. He's very affectionate! It is very rewarding and fun to help some sweet homeless animals.

Yes, my hubby and i have rescued several dogs, and we have attempted to reunite them with their owners. when that is not possible, we take them to the local animal shelter, and just hope for them to be found or adopted.
We have a dog of our own, and one is enough, so we don't keep any of these strays. Also, people have to be VERY cautious, because some animals can be very aggressive, have rabies, or other diseases.
Most of the cats that my sisters and I had as children were stray cats, BUT they get to be VERY expensive. Lots of Vet bills you know... But sometimes it is worth it, because you rescue a sickly, starving little animal, and nourish it back to health. It's awesome!

Yes I rescued a dog right before it was going to run out into the busy street, I took it home and had her for 4 days until the owner finally contacted me. I put fliers up all around my neighborhood.

Living in the country we always had homeless animals find us. I did save a kitten off the side of the road and took it home seeing as it was obviously dropped off.

I adopted my dog Rocky from an eccentric lady that was caring for him after he was found wandering the streets of LA. He's a cross between A dachsund and a coker spaniel, so he's medium/small. He was like 8 pounds and had kennel cough! I love that little weirdo!

Yes I love cats...and all animals. But there were two i found and never foudn there owners, they are still living with my parents then i moved out with my boyfriend and i found 2 kittens there. I of course took them in, I found the owner and he said to take them because hes probably kill them. SO i think of those kittens as a blessing to me. I love them so much. And we are getting ready to have more kittens because of those little guys...its going to be hard to aprt with them! anyone need a kitten? :-)

Yes. I adopted both of my cats from shelters. Makes me feel good to know I did something good for the planet. And I got two great companions out of the deal!

Once.....but not for myself, i gave him (a cat) to a friend to give to one of his relatives.
A friend of mine just rescued a kitten that was abandoned at the place we work a week ago. The kitten is doing great (although Lori had several new scars to show me this morning).

Yes. My hubby was going to get dinner one night, and the car in front of him swerved and sped up. Well, hubby gets closer, and there was 6 kittens and their mother all dead. He pulled over, and there was 1 black kitten that got out of the path. He brought her home and we kept her. We had to bottle feed her. We love her so much, she's a part of the family!!!
