Maybe I didn't phrase my question very well. Obviously actors are used but are all the body parts just props?

A mixture. It depends on the state that the body is in. Some of the actors playing corpses have said they sometimes get forgotten about! Once a corpse started snoring while David Caruso was rehearsing! Apparantly swimmers make the best corpses because they can hold their breath for a long amount of time.

Why would they use real bodies? Don't believe everything you see on tv. Most of the time they use actors "acting" dead and the rest of the time they use special effects, probably dummies.

Yep. I heard the bodies on the autopsy tables are actors that have to lay there and be still...

Proably real extras or actors, but not real dead bodies! Maniquins at worst!

Yes..and when theyre done taping...the bodies get up and take all that make-up off themselves...shower..and go home to their families

I always wonder that myself. i hope not cuz that wud be creepy. sure that's not allowed or there should be some sort of warning before the progamme?
