if you have no matches it will be the hardest thing ever... your hands will probably bleed before you start a fire. Most people think it's with the two pieces of wood, but unless you can create friction fast enough, it will never happen. You can try with rocks too, hit them together up and down hard enough to create a spark, and beg God to let the sparks light up the dry wood underneath

This is what I do that works great... Find a dirt area. Lay some small sticks and kindling on the ground and light them. (Gasoline is a great fire starter...lol) Then, as the fire builds, put some bigger peices of wood, preferrably logs and arrange them into a tee-pee-like structure, where they are all leaning against each other. Before you know it you'll have a good fire...
P.S. Be very careful, and when it comes time to put the fire out, mainly let it die down, but you can also toss dirt onto it. Also, keep the area around the fire moist, including the surrounding grass, trees above, shrubbery, or plants. This is especially important if you live in a heated region...
Good Luck!

Remember the fire triangle we learned as kids? To make fire you have to have fuel, fire and oxygen. This will make a perfect camp fire.
1. Dig a fire pit. Clear the area of rocks and debris. Lay rocks in a circle around this area.
2. Gather all sizes of wood and sticks. Make sure that it is dry.
3. Gather bark, dry leaves and moss.
4. Start with the small stuff and ignite a leaf or piece of moss. Slowly add larger pieces to the fire. Blow gently to spread the fire.
5. Continue adding wood until your larger pieces ignite.

start with a scrunched up paper centre, not too much, then add tiny scraps of wood, card, twig, wax etc. Then put a pyramid of small thin dry wood on top and prop the larger wood outside that. Light the paper, wait about 10 minutes and it should be burning well

Dry wood, and fire.
Use little tiny sticks to start it, and as the fire grows, but bigger peices of wood on. Make sure you're not maiking under a low-hanging tree, or in an area that is suffereing drought conditions.

my husband makes fire starters.
melt wax in a pan on the stove.
in a cardboard egg crate he puts a square of toilet paper he folds up to use as a wick.
pour melted wax in crate making sure some of the toilet paper is sticking out and let cool.
you can cut apart the individual fire starters to pack in your camping gear
they are lightweight and very easy to start.
using small twigs stack them in a tee pee keep adding twigs and then larger sticks until you have a campfire.

Dry wood stacked in a tepee shape, in-between the wood newspaper, also helps dry out the wood if it gets wet, light the newspaper and you have a fire... add some lighter fluid if you have no patience....gasoline or kerosene...if you are a pyro ! Now get some marshmellows and roast away.

Get dirt on the camp employee you want to see released, and then show that to the head counselor, and they'll fire that person.
