have you ever seen anyone wash or go to the loo on the show they stay dirty and sad all the time

It's because they (most of them, anyway) live in a type of subsidized housing that doesn't have washing machines within the housing. Everyone uses the neighborhood laudromat. (I've noticed that they wash their dishes by hand, as well.)
The people who own their own homes are much more likely to own washing machines.

No they haven't, they must all have a load off money, it costs a fortune to do your washing in a laundrette, my washing machine is broke, and i am using my neighbours at moment, which is very kind off him till i get new one next week.

I guess its something the props people just left out due to expense, also a fake front of a washing machine would look pretty naff!

cos the silly buggers dont use calgon.everyone knows washing machines last longer with calgon.my girlfriend keeps trying to slip some in my tea !!!!

coz they have the laundrette. Who needs a washing machine when you can give it to pauline and have it washed, dried and ironed (if you pay extra). saves a lot of hassle!

thats got to be the question yet! well, just think, pauline and dot wouldnt have jobs if everyone had wash machines.. i guess there isnt a descent elcetrical store in miles!!!

Cos theres no electricity in the houses 'cos they are only make believe to fool people like yourself who think they exist and that Walford is real when in fact it ain't real. Innit.
