Put a small ad in your local newspaper under the Announcements section in the classifieds. Run it three different times and present proof of doing so along with all other divorce papers. Judge will take it into consideration that an attempt was made to notify him with no results. Your divorce should go through on the grounds of desertion with problem.

where do you live? the way the law works in USA, you take a ad out in a well known newspaper for 30 days, giving notice that you are serving them , requesting a divorce. If no reply within the 30 days, when you go to court show the judge the receipt, that you did try and reach him. divorce done.

I think you can legally just place an ad in the paper for a certain length of time, and if he doesn't show up, the divorce gets pushed through without any contesting from him. Your lawyer should know.

Not sure I can help much. Private detectives are expensive! You could try Googling him on the Internet. Also there are ways to search city and county records on the Internet, but it may cost you something,. If the state is after him they can help look for him. Not sure if you can get access to police records; it would probably depend on what type of offense he may have committed. Maybe you could run a credit check on him, but that might not give you his present location. Good luck!

not sure where you live however, my sister had a estranged hubby and had filed for divorce, they couldn't find him so her lawyer put a ad in the paper telling him where to be and when, he didn't show and she got the divorce based on his non apperace. Just a thought to discuss with the lawyer

Actually I think you do have to put some sort of notice in the newspaper attempting to find him, or notifying him of your intention to divorce him. If he doesn't respond after a certain amount of time, you can proceed with the divorce without him. This is true. One of my friends recently went through this.

I know in the state of Arizona you have to put an ad in the newspaper saying who you are looking for and why...It has to be in there for 1 month...if you don't find him then the judge will give you the divorce without him signing anything...Good Luck...

Get any information you already have about him,(especially his social security number),and take this to your legal aid office, and they will find him for you. Proceed with divorce and child support processing.

Try to Google him. You never know what you can find on there.
Also check out the Social Security website. You may be able to find him that way.
