Definitely deserved it.
Pierce is a great player, just below Wade and LeBron, but because these guys are in the league and same conference, he doesn't get the recognition he rightly deserves.
If he had some more support, the Celtics could really go places, but he's had to carry the team almost by himself for so long.

What do I think about PP? Well, he's not the best player and not even in the top 5. I think he plays smart though and produces solid numbers. The all-star deserves the deal but the reason there is no credit is because he doesn't fill up the highlight reel. He just plays hard and good. Plus if the Celtics were actually winning then he would get a lot of credit. So yes he deserves the contract.

I never saw an all-star in him, but he keeps making the team. He does the little things, so he may not be a superstar, but he's a quality player. He's been around for a long time, and is the face of the Boston Celtics. When you say Boston Celtics, you think Paul Pierce. They have no one else left, they have to keep him around.

yes, because of his all around play, he rebounds and passes well. he's not afraid to make contact and most impotantly in this past year he developed leadership skills and matured. You can't say he's not worth it when he is the face of the franchise. if he gets the right pieces around the Celtics can contend.

No. The Celtics should have traded him to start rebuilding. They are not going to win with him. He is a good player.
