Congradulations on the one year sober, but.........um........what in the world does that have to do with this question?
As I see it, you are asking if you have the right to know what she3's planning for you. The answer is yeah I guess so, but it sounds like she may be planning a surprise.
How could a surprise cost YOU money?
Not a very precise and clear question my non-drinking friend.

Dude, just let go. Been 6 years w/out a drink for me. I know you don't want to make a big deal about it. But it is also a big deal for her-- a year sober IS something to be proud of. Just don't let it make it think you are invincible. You can tell her your fears, and enjoy the night with her however it plays out. I know it can seem strange to celebrate sober, and uncomfortable to be the center of attention, but you can truly appreciate it-- one of the benefits of being sober is the abillity to feel joy, acknowledgement, and gratitude. Congrats on 365 consecutive days!

if its gonna cost you that much, she should tell you, or pay for it herself. you dont go to a birthday party and give someone a brand new rolls royce and be like "uhm that was 120,000, plus shiping" if shes gonna give you a big present, then she should pay for it her self with her money, not yours. the worst type of suprise parties are the ones where the suprise is the bill
btw, congrats, i had just made a year in july. and my mom got her 14 year madallion yeasterday =)

Stop acting like a jerk. She's only thinking of you. Have that conversation when it is more appropriate instead of throwing her under the bus for doing something nice for you.

first, congrats on one year of sobriety, i wish you continued success.
2nd, i thnk u should go, however, let her know that you wanna keep things low budget, money is a huge issue, and if you are spending it like crazy, it could cause stress, possibly sending you down a road u dont want to go. so just tell her.
good luck!!

just let her know that you appreciate what she does for you and her love and support. then let her know if she needs money to help make these moments happen to just ask you in advance for the amount of money this way it is a win win situation for the both of you.:)
