It does not defeat the purpose of American wedding...nor the American Pies.......Instead think of it as an (admittedly unfortunate) continuation of a cycle..

No, I agree with a previous answer...it should be American Baby. Imagine Jim trying to take care of the new baby and his dad giving him advice. Oh and not to forget about the lude remarks from Stifler...now that would be hilarious!!
