I know that her mom is Colombian, but I heard somewhere that her dad was an Arabic-American. Please tell me if this is true or not.. I'm just curious

Shakira is indeed Columbian & to answer your question, her father was a Lebanese immigrant...her name, however, is where you may think differently. Her name is Arabic. Hope that helps.

edit--She is not from America or Lebanon. Shakira was born & raised in Colombia. Mom is a native Colombian, Dad was a Lebanese immigrant (yes, people immigrate to countries OTHER than the US!). Lebanon is part of the Middle East, sharing borders with Isreal to the south, Syria to the east and north. The Middle East, by the way, is considered part of Asia, not Africa.
