I think it has alot to do with what your body needs. Your body craves what it needs usually, and as a kid, most need energy more than anything else, and whats one good source of energy... Sugar.

I know when I was a kid i liked to eat only the things that I thought were good. Luckily for my mom I loved carrots, corn, and lettuce. I think kids just need to be introduced to different things to find out what they like or they need them introduced in a different way (as far as preparation). There are also some kids that have parents that let them do whatever they want. These are the people who probably don't like vegetables as adults because they were never made to try them.

For some strange reason I have a child who LOVES vegetables but I have a friend whose children hate vegetables. My only observance here is that I did not get hyper on what foods to give my daughter or try to force her to eat something. She just naturally wanted to eat what me and her dad were eating. My friend is a vegetarian who is very hovering about the eating thing and refuses to let them try anything that she doesn't personally eat. Her kids are also older (mine is 5) and I really think they have decided to hate vegetables as their rebellion.

Usually its because they are not sweet like fruits or candy and you know how kidz absolutely love sweets. I have found most adults don't hate them like kids do and as kids get older they usually grow into liking some vegetables so I wouldn't worry about it....it all depends on their particular tastes.

proper, there is a few motives. i have were given heard that it particularly is by way of the very actuality father and mom do no longer understand the thanks to organize dinner dinner vegetables. This from a foodstuff critic and nutritionist residing in France, the position youngster's menus in restaraunts look as if miniature man or woman menus, and youthful ones do eat proper-prepared vegi's. also, our tastes do replace as we boost older. plants containing pollution do no longer form solid. the skill of babies to popular small parts of organic and organic pollution in what they eat is a survival mechanism. Adults have better mass- we are able to take it and under no circumstances replace into horribly ill. I loved vegis turning out to be up, yet then my kinfolk cooks proper. At my present day Uni, the vegi's are undercooked each and every and each and every of the time- and it particularly is noticable. i do no longer imagine of i'd have stood for it were I served undercooked vegi's as somewhat one. ...also, many organic and organic plant pollution are damaged down by sufficient cooking (truly a theory).

I have found children love vegetables. They do not love all kinds. Carrots-raw corn-on the cob, cream style or whole kernel
lettuce-free of dressing celery-with and without peanut butter potatoes-boiled or baked (of course fries-they do not count) spinach-steamed
broccoli florettes-especially with cheese sauce to dip them in green beans-steamed
They like vegetables that are not mushy, or over powered with seasoning or meat.

There was a scienific report some years ago suggesting that the components of vegatables mean they react badly with the tastebuds and senses with children, however they react better in later life. This was a bit of "tabloid story" science and so might be taken with a pinch of salt, but an interesting theory none-the-less.

I always assumed all vegetables had an acquired taste. Personally I've always loved broccoli, I don't see why most little kids hate it!
