The strong and selfish survive, its called natural selection. It may not seem like it, but we are all still animals and we will always put ourselves first.
The sad fact is that if you aren't selfish, people will take advantage of you. Its not right, but its true.

Yup, I'm selfish. I like food in MY stomach and clothes on MY back.. I like to live in a house that will keep the rain of ME.. if that's selfish.. then I am REALLY selfish.
How about the time that I have the only money I had to a friend so that SHE could have food.. and I didn't get to pay my cable bill? What about the time when my cousin's house burnt down, so I sold my car to give her the money to start out again? What about the time it came down to me getting glasses because my vision was blurry OR my son having new shoes because there were holes in his other ones..
Glad to know that I am selfish.

Selfishness. There is no human walking on this earth that is not at least somewhat selfish. I am quite ashamed to admit it, but I may classify as the top 25% of selfish humans. The first step to dropping that percentage has been taken... I admit it. I am Selfish!!

So if I give everyone a 100 bucks and give my self a dollar, I'm still selfish...? Selfishness comes within certain acts not as a pure way of life. Sure, you CAN be selfish, but you can also give someone 60,000 dollars and then be considered generous. So really everyones also generous. ;)

Read Ayn Rand.
A certain amount of selfishness with ethics and a guaranty of basic human rights actually benefits everyone. This is actually what the constitution is based on.

who is we?
speak for yourself,
but for goodness sake, why don't you be specific so this question has some substance,
being so general, is giving no clue what the heck you are referng to,
Come on you can do better than that,, you have come this far, now get real, what kind of selfish, do you mean?
AND HOW CAN YOU KNOW WE ARE ALL LIKE YOU?

Who is we? If you are referring to the American people then you are quite mistaken. We have spilled our blood around the world to free people and we send our wealth everywhere to improve the lives of the less fortunate. Billions would emigrate here if they could because anyone can improve their position in this nation with hard work and determination.
