And of course, Why?

I think it's wrong, unless you're in a REALLY bad condition...like if you got hurt in an accident or something, or if you were born with a "defect" that you can't get over...but mostly I think that people are the way they are for a reason, and that they should accept it and that they shouldn't turn to plastic surgery to build their self-esteem.

My mom got Liposuction (i'm not sure if that's how you spell it) and breast implants-not insanely big, I think a B-cup-and she said she'd do it again...she looked fine before she had this done to her...to tell you the truth, I don't really notice that much of a difference...she had to go through a week of laying on our sofa not being able to move, not to mention how hard it was for her to breath-the muscles in her stomach had to re-attach themselves, it was horrible seeing her lay there everyday, it was like she had a disease, but she did it to herself...it makes me sad to think that she had to do that to herself because she felt ugly...I didn't realize that looks meant so much to her : /

Why would anyone need to perform surgery on plastic? Just melt it and reshape it!

i guess it is always for 'cosmetic reasons'
but i can understand returning to some semblance of normality
like after your face gets burnt off or mastectomy or bad injury.
i completely fail to understand doing it to feel better or look better.
if one is already statistically normal-looking.
seems to me like an inability to accept yourself.
i would prefer helping folks become more accepting of who they actually are and how they look.
i think it's like a solution to what's not really the problem.
but some folks do really like the results.
and some do not.
i really feel it is an unwarranted risk to undergo surgery
to try to look better.

i think people should do whatever they want if it makes them feel better. i feel this way because i watch nip/tuck and this has given me a whole new perspective on plastic surgery.

I think you should only do it if there is really something wrong. It can get out of hand. Case in point--Michael Jackson.

I think it's fine. You should do whatever make you happy or feel better.
