It's going to take place during the fall, and I honestly have no clue how fancy I should be getting. I'm a teenager (15) so I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard or anything.

It will depend on what time of day the wedding is being held. If it's in the evening, generally it is a more formal wedding. If daytime, much less so. Find out the details and go from there. I'm sure your Mom can help you figure something out that'll work and be fine.

1. Time of day is the most important thing here. That will determine whether you want a dressy sundress type look or a real cocktail dress.

2. If the wedding is outdoors, be careful of your shoes! Heels sink in grass so consider flats, a wedge, or a platform.

3. Consider asking your cousin what the bridesmaids will be wearing. That can give you a feel for how formal the wedding will be.

4. Don't go shorter than the knee. Tea length is always safe.

5. A safe bet for weather is to look for something with spaghetti straps and pair it with a dressy cardigan or a nice wrap.

A few possible brands to consider:
JCrew.com: I don't like the way their dresses fit but they have very cute, very simple dresses. Good fabrics, elegant cuts. You can make them your own with your choice of jewelry/accessories.
Max Azria or Max Studio (his less expensive line): I feel like this is a designer who never really gets much respect, but he makes some really beautiful separates and dresses. I have a celadon green silk dress I bought for a wedding 3 years ago that still works and that I still get compliments on everywhere. If you feel his stuff is too old, take a look at his BCBG stuff but watch out because I feel like that line gets really tarty and overdone.

Good luck!

Wear something elegant and suited for the fall (perhaps some dark reds, peaches, golden yellows, etc..), but don't look better than the bride..hehe..obviously. Make sure the dress you pick out is easy to dance/move around in. Many weddings have dances, and if you are in a dress that is so long that you can't move well, imagine trying to dance like that. Not fun!

Somthing simple. Belive me, from a guy, we don't like when a women tries soo hard either, nor do we like over-done things.

PLain and Simple, if you wern't 15 i would also say somthing a little sexy, but wait till you are 18 for that.
