Actually Verizon Wireless has one of the competitives prices in the market and gives quality service to its customers.
With those up to 5 additional lines added to your Family plan for $9.99, you can call anyone in the Nation, it works like any other cell phone, it works as any other primary number.
Verizon provides quality, good prices and wide coverage area. You can take a look at coverage maps area of Cingular or Sprint ot Qwest or T-Mobile and you will see none will come close to VZ.

For quite a few years in a row Verizon prompt gained proper cellular telephone reception contained in the client comments cellular telephone difficulty. even as i pass places with my freinds and family individuals, my verizon telephone receives a lot less dropped calls and has extra reception than the phones round me. those phones comprise sprint, Cingular, and Tmobile. T-cellular and Nextell have 0.5 the peace of mind of the excellent 3. Virgin cellular because it makes use of a few of the sprint towers has purely 0.5 the reception that sprint had. MetroPCS is funny tale; human beings in Sacramento call it ghetto pcs. I easily have bought phones for plenty of those organizations except Tmobile and Metro. Verizon in my opionion has the proper reception.

It depends on where you live. Ask around to see what others are using & ask how well the reception is & if they have a lot of dropped calls. I live in a rural area where there are not many cell phone towers so ours don't always do too well, but my daughter lives in Nashville & hers works as good as her home phone because there are more towers near the bigger cities. We both have Sprint. You'll just have to do some research.
Good Luck & God Bless!

I have Verizon, and I have no complaints. Their free Verizon-to-Verizon calling is the best plan in my opinion.
