India actually qualified for the 1950 World Cup in Brazil but were not allowed to play by FIFA because they wanted to play in bare feet. Believe it or not, that's the truth. They've played in most of the qualifying tournaments since but never made it. That goes for Olympic qualifiers as well.

India has entered into the Olympics. Some indians have won medals for their country.

India does participate in the World Cup, they have a national football team.

* 1930 to 1938 - Did not enter
* 1950 - Qualified by default, but withdrew
* 1954 to 1970 - Did not enter
* 1974 to 2006- Did not qualify

I'm pretty sure they field some sort of Olympic squad, but the FIFA tourney is based on a series of qualifiers and stuff. You may not see them in the finals (which is the 32 team tournament every four years), but I would think they do have a National Soccer team. Who doesn't these days.

They probably have teams for some things in the olympics but their a very poor country. So yeah they probably participate but they don't have all of the facilities and oppurtunities and time as other countries like America and Europe. Things come a lot harder for them. But they do participate just in not many things, you don't usually see India in the olympics also.

I'm sure that India has competed in the Olympics before. As far as the FIFA world cup, they only made it once, in 1950, to the actual tournament. I'm sure they paticipate in qualifying rounds.

i know that they r in the OLYMPICS,but i know that they want to play soccer bare-foot,that's against the rules of FIFA,so they really dont participate
