I have a Kawasaki Kz750 and am having problems starting it. I have put a new battery in it and new plugs. It is getting fuel and the carberators are clean and rebuilt. It turns over but wont start. There is fire going to the plugs but nothing. Does anyone else have this problem could it be the Ignition coil or might I need new wires? Whe I do get it started it runs fine for the rest of the day and then the next day I have problems again. Help please

Hard to start is one of two things.

Electrical or Fuel problem.

1.Check the choke and settings in or out?
2.Check air cleaner. May be blocked or dirty
3.pull a spark plug and see what color it is. Brown/running rich, white/not enough fuel to it, Black/ carbon problem.
4.Check the coil for constant spark.
5.Check the Voltage regulator.
6.Check fuse block for a defective fuse, may be half bad.
7.Check all wiring conections.
8.Run a tester on the system, diagnostic's.
9.Take it to Kawasaki for service, simple problem may be quick and cost you less in the long run.

Always give "year", make, engine size and model # when asking questions.
The older KZ's had contact breaker points and a mechanical advancer. Check those if you have them.
Check the float bowls. At the bottem of the bowl is a hole that goes up "through" the side of the bowl. That's the feed for the choke circuit. With a spray can of carb cleaner, spray in the hole and make sure it comes out the hole on the edge.
-Tight or leaking valves will cause cold starting problems.

I honestly have an 'eighty one KZ750 E and an 'eighty 2 KZ750 H LTD. I run Pennzoil Platinum complete man made 10W-30. It handles the nice and comfy temperature a lot more effective than commonplace oil and the take carry of plates tutor a lot less positioned on. I ran 2 hundred miles on Saturday in ninety 8 degree climate without motorbike court docket situations.

If it restarts OK after it's been running and warm, then it's probably an air intake problem. Check the tension on the choke cable,or just replace it. Your bike is fairly easy all you need is a new cable and some zip ties.l.Make sure your plugs are gaped correctly as well.

Intermittent ignition module would be my first guess. Have it tested.
