don't give in unless youre prepared to spend mega bucks. saltwater fish ARE more expensive, and so is the setup for the tank, along with the upkeep. the only thing i've found that comes close would be a fantail goldfish(for the color), or a tuxedo platy. they're orange, and then have some black on both sides (hence the name). but there's not another tropical fish that truly resembles anything saltwater. sorry. hope this helps though!

I was looking for this sort of effect too. I couldn't find the freshwater fish so I got a regular goldfish and addedd the Nemosity with a magic marker and some correction fluid. He just floats now.

There really aren't any freshwater fish that look like a clown fish. I hate the fact that every parent out there is trying to find "Nemo" for their kids just because of this stupid movie.

Don't get a pet for your brat just because there's a cute animal in a movie!

Some short tailed Shubunking resembles Nemo (not exactly the same of course). We sell fishes in a store and those are the most accepted as Nemoids...

Saltwater fish-only tanks aren't that hard to take care of. They can be slightly more expensive, but clownfish are extremely hardy and eat flakes like tropical fish. This 12 gallon aquarium would do well:
