Because you allow us too. You let him know it is alright to treat you that way by going back or not standing up for yourself. My father used to yell at me all the time. I finally got feed up and started telling him not to talk to me like that. It took about 20 times but he hasn't yelled at me in a year. You teach people how to treat you.

This is a good question. The problem is not that men start treating you bad when you start loving them it's more associated with them not loving you. To best understand this is to define what the word love means. Being with somebody and doing things for them does not necessarily mean you love them. It might mean you care about them; however, for our purposes, which is to describe what love means in relationships - we must accept that love means the person wants to be with you, and does not have feelings of being forced to be with you. Therefore a guy who loves his girlfriend would love and appreciate that his feelings are reciprocated and a guy who doesn't love his girlfirend will feel even worse when she shows him signs of attachment and strong feelings. There is also the case that he does love you and he's just scared about the intensity of your feelings and it makes him put up a wall. So my advice would be just to talk to him about your feelings completely, ask him questions that you may not be comfortable hearing answers to, such as, do you really love me? do you want to be with me? If he answers yes, ask him why he treats you bad? Why he disrespects you? People cannot suppress their feelings, the signs come out one way or another.

are you prejudice against men? There are a lot of mean women out there that are worse than the men? You question should be "how come your spouse treats you so badly when you love them so much?" That is the way you should have asked that.

I think when a man treats a woman really bad, its because of the poor example is father figure set for him when he was a young boy!!! You know if you see it, growing up, You will do it!! My dad was a respectable man, I have been married twice, neither one of them has ever been mean or bad to me. If they were, I would have left in a heart beat.

obviously you are picking the wrong men, then training them to treat you badly.
next time a man treats you bad kick him out!
when you have some self respect you will demand to be treated properly as you deserve

My man treats me like the queen of the world. Not all men are a**holes, even though they act like it sometimes. If you find the right man for you he will treat you will all the love, respect and dignity you deserve. Good luck in finding one like that.

I do not know why people do that. For what its worth, I know great guys who get treated like dirt by their wives and girlfriends too. It is a big mistake to take goodness in a person for granted. Just for your own selfish motives, you might as well enjoy that good person as much as you can, and the way to enjoy them is to get the best out of them, and you do that by being NICE to them. Simple, eh?

for one reason you let them,and another reason is that you think that all the love you have which is all good and intentions are from the heart will change them and with out realizing it you think it is your fault they treat you that way, also it could be sees how much you love him and he don't care just don't waste your heart and emotions on a man that abuses you mentally there is someone out there that you will find that will respond in all the ways you deserve
