I am ready to take the test I hope, but I am worried about the signs. I know what they mean and stuff, and what the shapes are and the colors, but on the written test, in what ways do they ask about the signs. Do they say like,"square white border with red circle in middle??? or something like that! I am a very nervous test taker, and almost afraid to drive because my G. friend was killed in an accident. what are the sign questions like???

The sign tests of the driver's license exam show pictures of signs and ask you what they mean. Each sign has three or four possible answers and you pick which one is the correct answer.

Most of the signs are self explanatory by words or the graphics on them. If you've been studying them they should pop into your mind.

Here's a good site to just review them:

Good luck!

I took my motorcycle license in AR.. and it was SSOOOOO easy. I think there was 1 or 2 questions about the signs.. but if you have ever even SEEN a sign of ANYKIND.. you will be fine. It's a piece of cake.. you'll be fine.. And the driving part.. I had to follow someone down the street, around the block. stop at a stop sign, back around the block, park and get off safely. That was it. I asked if that was all.. he said.. "yup.. you didn't fall over.. good enough !!" so.. quit worrying.. you'll do GREAT !!!
I'll also tell you something.. I was 34 taking it for the first time.. my bike was a Honda Shadow ACE 750. NOT a little bike.. and I weigh 130 pounds at 5'6". If I can do it.. you can.. GOOD LUCK
I'll say a prayer for you..

Don't worry about it, you'll be fine. If you are that nervous maybe you should just take some time off before driving; it sounds like you're pretty young, and you don't need to learn to drive right this minute. Just take it easy there buck.

In answer to your question, I'm in Kansas too, and as I remember the test has small pictures of the signs, without any words on them. So it shows you the shape and color.

Number one rule for test taking, stop worring.
Go see a hypnotist to take your stress away, then just take the test, if you have ridden down the road in a car before, and know what the signs mean, then you will do fine. All state test are multiple choice, with photo's. They ask, what's the correct sign, meaning Yeild or stop.

Regulatory signs are black/white or red/white or red/white/black. A regulatory sign is a sign that regulates you - tells you what the law is. They are normally rectangular except for Yield signs (triangle) and Stop signs (octagon).

Warning signs are yellow and are normally diamonds except for School crossing (house) and No Passing (pennant). They warn you of conditions coming up.

Cosntruction signs are orange and white.

Info signs are blue, green or brown.

if you mean road test then all they're gonna ask you to do is park on a hill, be able to do a three-point turn, and so on..course i live in alabama so the road test is probably different in other states. Only advice I can give is to just do your best..
