So I came out to my family about a year ago that I was gay. But still they lie about what they feel. They say that they can't get used to me sleeping with someone b/c to them I'm still a kid, but i live on my own and pay my own bills w/ my gf, do you think thats the truth or do you think they just will never accept the gay thing? What should I do about that?

families, for the most part, lie about the way they feel at some point or other. You just need to go on living your life and eventually they'll come around to understanding you. If you really feel that they're uncomfortable, sit down and talk to them about it. If they say they're fine with it (even if you think it's a lie) then, move on... you seem to be doing well on your own, continue to do whatever it is you're doing. Nobody has to agree 100% with your lifestyle in order for you to feel "right". All that matters is that YOU are happy. If your family loves you (and I'm sure they do) then all they really want is for you to be happy.

Its kind of..complicated. I'm sure you agree. You grew up in your parents house, I'm assuming, still in the closet. Right? So your family got to know you as a straight girl. They knew you as that person. And then you changed that by telling them that you are gay. Good for you by the way. I think you just shocked them. For years you were this one person, and now you're different. Is anyone else in their lives gay? Maybe they don't want you to feel uncomfortable around them. It is quite possible that they are uncomfortable with the situation. But I really think its just because for years they saw you as one person, and you changed that view point. Don't worry. Its your family. I'm sure they love you and want you to be happy.

First off....Your parents will always love you. They are using the "TOO YOUNG THING" to express that they are not happy with your sex life. Whether you were 17 or 50...it might take them some time to accept it but trust that they will always love you and will come around.

To be quite honest with you.....if you are taking care of yourself and are on your own, your parents shouldn't have much to say about who you are screwing (male or female). You are being more of an adult than many adults I know. Just remember that they will always be your parents and the fact that you may be young, they feel that they still have a parental influence on you.....BUT IT'S TOO LATE. They'll come around...

Good Luck....
