I think I am about to break it! :P lol
(and yes, I've tried it all! Yesterday ALONE, I ate pineapple, pizza, ran up and down stairs, did nipple stimulation, walked, and had sex--twice! sorry about the tmi. Still NO contractions at all, the baby hasn't dropped, and I am 41w1d)

I've tried everything I know that is safe. Reflexology, bumpy roads, etc. I won't try herbs or castor oil or anything else that is considered unsafe, so don't worry. Since nipple stimulation didn't even give me little contractions, I am not worried about it, because it is the contractions that have the side effects.
Dr said he would induce me at the end of next week if nothing happened (and he doesn't expect it will). But I do hope it doesn't come down to that. I am not a big fan of inductions unless there is a serious need.

the longest pregnancy i know of was 46 years. a woman from the middle-east's baby died inside of her while she was in labour and she carried it until her mid-70s.

I'm sorry!! It isn't fun to be ready to go and the baby not cooperating. Just know that it will be like that after the baby is born too.. lucky us huh??
Anyways, sounds like you have tried it all. Have you talked to your doctor about induction? Sometimes it's best to do induction rather then wait it out. Talk to them and see what they say.
The longest pregnancy is an elephant- 22 months. Just be glad it isn't you!!! When ever I would be ready for the baby to come, I would think that at least I wasn't an elephant!!
You can try reflexology. There are 2 spots that are reported to help bring on labor. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. There is one on your hand, between the tumb and first finger, in the webbing of skin. Rub right there until you find a sore spot. That's where you need to concentrate your efforts. Squeeze that spot between the thumb and first finger of you other hand. Hold light pressure for 20-30 seconds then release for a minute or 2. You can do this for as long as you want. There is also one 2 finger widths up from you ankle. There are indentations on either side, if you feel those indentations, you will feel the tendon that runs down the back of your leg. Press those indentations and hold for the same amount of time as for the hand. This spot will also be sore, so don't press too hard.
I would suggest not doing nipple stimulation, or castor oil. Both of which can have really bad side effects unless done under the watch of your doctor.
When you had sex, did you orgasm also? Sounds weird, but orgasm releases ocytocin, which is what starts contractions. Orgasm also will make you contract some, which may help to get things moving. Also, make sure that your hubby is orgasaming also. Prostoglandins in sperm will help to soften the cervix.
You can try evening primerose oil. 2 caplets before bed- insert them up by your cervix and while you sleep, it will be absorbed by the cervix. It won't start contractions, but it may soften the cervix enough to start the process.
Good luck and if all else fails, talk to your doctor about induction!!!

Oh lord I am so sorry. I am only 34 1/2 weeks and delivered at 38 with my first...so I have never been in that boat and hopefully won't have to. I do feel for you though!!! I am not sure what is the longest...but my friend was 42w3d when she was finally induced with her third child. She was absolutely miserable those last few weeks! I hope there is an end in sight for you soon!

There doesn't seem to be one. At least not in the official website for Guiness records. Hey, Maybe you shold apply!!!
On a more serious tone... even though it's gotta be driving you crazy, your baby will be born when he want's to, he already is a separate life of his own, so... good luck with the birth, and God bless you both.

If the baby has not dropped yet that could be a little while yet. Are they sure they have the due date right? They were wrong by one month on mine. There is options though, they can give u hormones or differant things to make your body think it is farther a long. Just talk to the doctor!! good luck

I've heard castor oil as well... but be careful with it...
Also.. a ride on a bumpy road??
Some good comedy, to get big belly laughs, always makes me have contractions... (not that they are doing anything yet anyhow, I'm 37 weeks)
