I have known this person for 16 years, we have been firends since grade school. Lately though, all they have been doing is causing drama and everything has been all about them. It is causing me alot of stress, but I just don't want to end our friendship because I have known them for a long time. What should I do????

I am going to tell you what a dear friend told me after watching Madea Goes To Jail by Tyler Perry. This might sound funny coming from Madea (if you know anything about Madea), but what she had to say was so true and helped with me with a similar situation. Here it goes: Some people are going to coming into your for a lifetime, some will come into your life a season, and the best way to figure out if a person is a good friend or not is by putting them into a category of a tree. Some people that you will meet in your life will be like leaves. When the blows to the right the right, they will blow to the right, and when the wind blows to the left they will blow to the left. They are just unstable, and you will not be able to count on them for much, all they will do is just take from the tree. Leaves have thier seasons, so when the wither away and die, that's just it they are dead. There is no reason to cry and pray over a dead leaf. The leaf is just there to cool you off, every now and then, but when it's time for the leaf to go: LET it go. Then other people you meet in your life are like branches. You have to be careful with branches, because they can be deciving. They can appear to be strong and sturdy, but you will never know how strong they will be in your life, because of all the shapes and sizes. So when you meet branches you have to tred slowly, move to fast and the brach could snap, leaving you high and dry. And sometimes with branches you have to wait and see if the branch will grow up, so they can support and hold on to the things in your life you want to share with them. Finally, and most important; you will meet people in your life that will be like the ROOTS of the tree. These folks don't come around often, so when you find them hold on to them and don't let go. If you find two or three roots in your lifetime, then you know that you have been blessed. Because roots don't care about being seen, all they are there to do is hold that tree upand make sure it stays up in the air. It comes from the earth to give the tree everything that it needs, no questions asked. That's the kind of relationships we all need. Well I hope that Madea's knowledge will help you like it's helped me.
