I've found scientific studies showing that high humidity causes irritability more than any other weather condition, and I've noticed especially this summer that the higher the humidity, the less tolerant I am of my problems. Also, the lowered humidity in air-conditioned rooms and cars is why people like air-conditioning, not because it keeps us cool. Anyone else agree?

Sure .. Everybody hates humidity. The more moisture in air that much amount of oxygen get displaced. The lesser amount of oxygen you taken than normally induces psycological problems that ;eads to stuff like iritation.

So go get in the shade and keep cool.

I've lived in Phoenix twice...the air conditioning units used there are designed to put humidity into the air because it's so dry, it's virtually impossible to cool...

Humidity can be a drag...but at least in the humid climes the breeze is cool and the shade is cool..in non-humid areas, the breeze is the temp of the air (hot air, hot wind) and shade is just a lack of light, not temperature...

I live in FL now...I'll take the humidity here, over the 110°+ temps in dry (but beautiful) AZ...

High humidity is a blessing for me. I cannot stand Bostonian dry climate, especially in summer, when it has to be naturally humid. Dry and hot air instead dries skin and makes me feel depressed. When I visited Florida (Miami Beach) my first time, I thought it was heaven, and was asking myself why in the name of God would people decide to inhabit cold and dreadfully dry areas to the north of Washington DC, including Boston? It seems, people don't even care about these monstrous AC systems drying the air out most completely! Each time I feel humidity increases (it usually happens near big water when wind blows from the ocean), I celebrate these rare moments! Furthermore, the time I can move to a warmer and, most importantly, more humid place, I'll will go for it!

I live in Florida and could not exist w/o air conditioning. When I lived in PA I had nice wavy hair. In FL it's always frizzy. I work in my yard a lot but it must be before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

When it gets cold it is worse than a snow blizzard. The cold starts in the marrow of your bones and radiates out.

After all that complaining I would not go back North. It is too expensive to live there and my heating and cooling bills are high enough here. I don't want to drive in snow, sleet and bother with chains on my tires.

I feel I live in the tropics but I'll stay right here. I have one Son that travels all over the world and he hates it here.
